Approved by The State Council of the People's Republic of China, with the support of China Association for Science and Technology (CAST), The People's Government of Beijing Municipality, The People's Government of Hainan Province, Ministry of Science and Technology, Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, Ministry of Ecology and Environment, Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, Ministry of Transport State Administration for Market Regulation, National Energy Administration, the World New Energy Vehicle Congress (WNEVC) has been successfully held for four sessions. The Congress played an important role in leading the global automobile industry development, accelerating global industrial transformation, strengthening technological innovation and deepening cooperation. In order to achieve green and low-carbon development, strengthen global coordination and cross-industry integration, and continue to build a global shared new ecology and high-quality development pattern of automobile industry, has become an important vane leading technological innovation as well as industrial transformation and upgrading in the global automotive field. The development of new energy vehicles is the common choice of all countries in the world to cope with climate change, improve the ecological environment, promote economic development, realize the transformation and upgrading of the automobile industry and sustainable development. The 5th World New Energy Vehicle Congress will to be held in 2023 continuously.
The selection of "Global NEVs Cutting-edge & Innovative Technologies" is an important concurrent event of WNEVC. The purpose of selecting the world's "Cutting-edge and Innovative Technologies" is to accurately catch the latest NEV technology development. It will also promote NEV technology collaboration and exchanges between China and the world; as well as guide the acceleration and breakthrough of core NEV technologies. In 2022, more than 125 cutting-edge and innovative technologies were collected. In the end, the Science and Technology Committee composed of 31 world-renowned experts and scholars in the field of new energy vehicles voted to select 8 innovative technologies and 8 cutting-edge technologies.
